You may or may not know that at Life Church we don’t pass an offering plate on Sunday mornings. Why? Well, it’s pretty simple. Many people have attended churches in the past that are constantly asking for money. Others that are new to church may have a preconceived notion that all churches care about is money. Obviously, it takes money to provide a space to worship, and to minister to the local church, community, and the world beyond. But, sometimes the “money” side of things can leave a bad taste in people’s mouths. We want people experience Christ through His church, not be pushed away. We realize that asking for money often builds up walls. We want to tear down walls!
Last year we made the intentional decision to leave a basket in the back of the church for anyone who wants to give cheerfully to support the work. This was a great decision and God is using you to bless the work of Life Church. To that we say, “Thank YOU!”
God has blessed us with a 7.26 acre piece of property on the corner of Routes 2 and 4 and Cox Road in Huntingtown. We are trusting the Lord and believe that very soon we will begin building a new home for Life Church. This winter’s weather caused us to miss two Sundays where we could worship as a family together due to CCPS cancellation policy. Wouldn’t it be great to be in our own space, utilizing it to build up the church body and bless our community 7 days a week?
So, this year we have decided that all offerings that are given on Easter Sunday will be directed to our building fund, unless they are otherwise designated to special ministries such as Shield Bearers (our ministry to members of the local law enforcement community), Heart F.E.L.T. (feeding 27 students from PPES with backpacks of food each weekend), or one of our missionaries or other ministries. Thanks for being a part of what God is doing!
